Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon,
Where there is doubt, faith,
Where there is despair, hope,
Where there is darkness, light,
and where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console;
To be understood, as to understand
To be loved, as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive
It is in Pardoning that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
FAQ
Where do the containers go?
Donations go where they are needed the most. Approximately 170 mission centers in 15 to 20 or more countries (depending on need) around the world, such as Angola, Columbia, Congo, Dominica, El Salvador, Gambia, Ghana, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Liberia, Malawi, Nicaragua, Peru, Philippines, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Zambia. Containers take four to ten weeks to get from the Mississauga warehouse to their destination. The supplies do get to their destination.
Does anyone get paid?
No. Everyone in our Chatham chapter volunteers their time and no one is paid. No government agencies are involved in the donation, collection or distribution of food or items sent by us.
Do we fundraise?
No fundraising is done by us. Mother Teresa asked Dr. Andrew and Joan Simone not to do this but instead simply tell people what we are doing and pray.
Is anything (donated items) sold?
Donations are all packed with care by our volunteers and sent to the appropriate country or region. A responsible contact person chosen by CFFC meets the containers and makes sure they are distributed properly to the poor.
Pray — For the ongoing success of this mission, the missionaries and those we serve. Only through prayer do we succeed.
